Hear the Call is an organization started by a group of students at Ecola Bible School in early 2010. As a school, we watched the movie "Call and Response" and a group of us gathered afterwards to pray. We decided we couldn't simply watch that movie and do nothing about what we had seen. With no idea of what we would do, or even what we could do, we began meeting weekly to discuss specific ways we could help. One of the main ways we decided we could participate in ending slavery was through prayer, so we began meeting daily to pray to "the God who performs miracles" (Psalm 77:14) about this issue of modern day slavery. In addition, we organized another movie night for Ecola students in order to continue to raise awareness and help students see how they can help in the fight against slavery.
Currently, we are in the process of continuing on the journey of determining what we can do and in what ways we can continue to raise awareness of the tragedy of modern day slavery.

I find it hypocritical that you want to help with this issue yet you can't even spell out fully the word SEX in Sex Trafficking!
ReplyDeleteThanks for pointing that out. I should have made a note to clarify why I do that. It's simply to insure that my website won't be blocked by any web filters designed to filter out sexually explicit material, because I believe this is an important message that everyone needs to hear.
